Restylane® is the smart and easy way to increase the volume and smoothness of your skin. It is based on a hyaluronic acid gel that closely resembles the body’s own hyaluronic acid. It is not permanent but the results are long lasting.
Restylane® improves your natural looks by adding back your skin’s volume, thus creating softness and restoring your appearance. It is an injectable gel which should always be administered by a trained, medically qualified practitioner.
A youthful skin is abundant with hyaluronic acid. As we age,the distribution and function of hyaluronic acid in our skin progressively change, leading to the characteristic signs of aging.
Restylane® gels work directly by increases your skin’s own supply of hyaluronic acid, adding volume to either soften the signs of aging or enhance your features.
The procedure is fast and fits well with busy lifestyles and with minimal downtime. It usually takes less than 30 minutes and the benefits are seen almost immediately.
Due to its granular nature, Restylane® is administered by injection using a large syringe. The injected Restylane® immediately plumps and tightens the skin, decreasing wrinkles, scars and lines from sagging skin.
On your first visit, Dr. Arzadon will discuss with you the changes to be made in your appearance. Your skin and facial structure is to be examined and different options will be discussed with you. Dr. Arzadon will also explain the risks, limitations and the anesthetic to be used. Ask to be shown before and after photos of other patients who have undergone this procedure. Also ask all the questions you may have on your first visit.
Most people experience some swelling, pain, bruising, tenderness and redness that normally last less than seven days. Although rare, red or swollen small bumps may occur. Cold compresses may be used immediately after treatment to reduce swelling.
Usually the type of anesthesia used is local.
This procedure may be done in the office surgical suite and you may go home after the procedure.

Restylane’s® uniquely produced hyaluronic acid gel closely resembles natural hyaluronic acid which lowers the risk of an inflammatory reaction or other side effects.
Contrary to some other hyaluronic acid-based products, the hyaluronic acid in Restylane® is not extracted from animals, there by eliminating the risk of transmitting disease or obtaining allergic reactions if you are sensitive to common foods, such as chicken and eggs.
Restylane® is long lasting but not permanent. This is good because your face changes its shape as you age and you wouldn’t want a permanent look you might regret in years to come.
Restylane® treatment requires no pre-testing but you should take a few precautions before being treated. Avoid using aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s Wort, or high doses of Vitamin E supplements prior to treatment as these may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, discuss this with your doctor to minimize recurrence.
Avoid touching the treated area within six hours following treatment. After that, the area can be gently washed with soap and water. Until the initial redness and swelling have resolved, avoid exposure of the treated area to intense heat (sunlamp or sunbathing).
